WHAT I DID

THE BRIEF/GOAL

ROLE: UX Writer

I re-wrote the mobile web content by improving structure and flow and using clear, persuasive language, we can quickly educate users giving them full control over their budget and booking progress. This approach reduces drop-off rates and keeps users engaged when browsing travel and tour options.

Hypothesis - By shortening the cookies screen short and readable and less overwhelming(cognitive load) which is the first thing customers encounter on launching the Bol app, I will re-write the cookies preferences screen, improving readability as well as responsiveness in choosing the right cookies as well.

BEFORE IMPROVEMENT

Launching the Bol mobile app opens with privacy preferences screen informing the user of the types of cookies which is typical in matching shopping interests to advertisements. It gives the consumer the option of choosing what kind of cookies to enable. The text is lengthy and may not be read by the user.

AFTER IMPROVEMENT

Frame 1.png

I restructured the content to make it clearer, shorter, and more transparent. The updated copy explains the purpose of cookies in simple language and highlights user choice without unnecessary detail. By improving readability and tone, the screen now helps users quickly understand their options and feel confident about managing their privacy settings.

Key Findings

  1. Clarity improves user understanding: by simplifying the text, it helps users quickly grasp why cookies are used and what each option means, lowering cognitive load.

  2. Transparency increases trust: A friendlier, more direct tone makes privacy messages feel less intrusive and more user-centered, encouraging users to make informed choices rather than skipping through.
